TECH ENVIRONMENTAL PRESS RELEASES
2011-02-25: Tech is Selected to Develop a Protocol for Sound Studies of Wind Energy Projects in Mass.
Tech Environmental has been awarded a contract by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to write a protocol for conducting acoustic studies of wind energy projects. MassCEC provides funding for the Feasibility Study phase of Commercial and Community Scale wind projects and requires that a detailed acoustic study be completed as part of the Feasibility Study. The goal of this protocol document is to establish a standard methodology for those acoustic studies, especially in regard to the application of the MassDEP Noise Policy, and thereby assist local communities and State agencies in understanding the sound effects of proposed wind energy projects. Tech has performed acoustic studies for 42 wind energy projects throughout the U.S.
