Air Pollution Permit Application

DESCRIPTION:

An air pollution permit application for an increase of 750 parking spaces at Mt. Snow Resort was prepared. Expansion plans call for the interconnection of Mt. Snow and Haystack Mt. through the addition of 25 new trails and three new lifts, as well as a new base lodge and hotel at Mt. Snow.

Tech developed the traffic data base from a 1987 Bruno traffic data. This historical traffic data was supplemented with actual counts in Wilmington Ctr. during the peak of President's week.

A microscale analysis predicted CO concentrations at three intersections affected by resort traffic in 1990 and 1996. The EPA MOBILE-4, Volume 9, HIWAY-2 and a modified Volume 9 formula for excess emissions at overcapacity intersections were used in the analysis.
