Greenhouse Gas Study of Paragon Outlets

SERVICE:

Energy and CO2 Modeling for a Proposed Retail Development

DESCRIPTION:

Tech performed an energy and greenhouse (GHG) emissions analysis for Paragon Outlets in Plymouth, consistent with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOAA) "Greenhouse Gas Emissions Policy and Protocol" (May 5, 2010). The development consists of approximately 350,000 square feet (sf) of gross leasable area for retail stores. The GHG analysis conforms to the EOEAA Policy, and the proposed Project is consistent with the Commonwealth's Sustainable Development Principles. Energy efficiency measures (EEMs will reduce overall Project energy use (stationary sources) and CO2 emissions by 18.2%, compared to the Base Case of the existing Energy and Building Code.

Key Points

  • Tech performed a GHG emissions analysis to predict the CO2 emissions that would arise from a large retail development.
  • With the use of Energy Efficiency Measures, Tech was able to predict that both overall Project Energy Use and CO2 emissions would be reduced.
