Sound Compliance Monitoring

DESCRIPTION:

Tech was asked to perform sound compliance monitoring at the Legacy Farms development to demonstrate compliance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Site Acceptability Standard. The Standard is a Day-Night (Ldn) sound level limit of 65 dBA. The Ldn is the 24-hour average sound level associated with a 10 dB penalty during the nighttime hours. Tech setup a sound monitoring system for a 24-hour period following ANSI protocols for proper sound level monitoring and equipment placement. Tech analyzed the data per HUD Environmental Criteria and Standards to obtain the measured Ldn level. The calculated level, 55.3 dBA, was below the standard of 65 dBA allowing Tech to conclude that the site would be suitable for housing under HUD's Site Acceptability Criteria.
