DESCRIPTION:

Because Tech's scientists and engineers performed air quality and greenhouse gas studies of the Legacy Park development. Tech's work fully complied with the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Policy and Protocol requiring use of the appropriate model. The model was used to test possible mitigation measures and analyze energy use and CO2 emissions. Tech calculated energy use and CO2 emissions for two separate cases: a building code-compliant Base Case and the Preferred Mitigation Case. In both of these cases, Tech included both direct and indirect emissions and associated motor vehicle trips. Tech worked with the design team to determine lower energy-intensive alternatives in the building design, lighting, mechanical equipment and transportation to the site. Tech also reviewed and prepared responses to DOER and MEPA certificate comments on the GHG study. At the end of the project, they prepared a technical report as part of the MEPA study for Griffin Engineering to be used in the FEIR.
