DESCRIPTION:

Tech was asked to perform mold and air quality testing in two classrooms at the Hanscom Middle School. There was concern of mold in the classrooms and because of their extensive expertise in mold sampling, Tech staff were asked to conduct an efficient study. At the site visit, Tech surveyed the classroom for any visible mold growth and collected airborne mold spore samples. Tech also collected measurements of temperature and relative humidity because of the relationship between mold growth and moisture levels. The air quality measurements were within normal, recommended ranges. The classrooms appeared to have adequate air intake and in neither classroom was a musty smell detected. Tech was able to conclude that mold growth did not appear to be growing in either classroom and the air quality was considered good in both classrooms.
