Greenhouse Gas Study and Air Quality Analysis

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental performed a mesoscale air quality analysis and a greenhouse gas (GHG) analysis for a CarMax, located in Westborough, MA. The air analysis that Tech performed was able to predict the VOC and NOx emissions in the project study area. Based off of the air quality results, Tech provided recommendations to CarMax on how to mitigate air quality impacts through roadway improvements, traffic operations improvements, and how to reduce vehicle air pollutant emissions. Implementation of all these improvements would result in VOC and NOx reductions. The GHG analysis conformed to the EOEEA Greenhouse Gas Emissions Policy and Protocol. This policy required Tech to quantify CO2 emissions, and identify measures on avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating such emissions. Tech followed all necessary steps in the policy and helped the business adopt numerous energy efficient measures that would help to decrease the total direct and indirect stationary source energies. These measures also helped to decrease CO2 emissions.
