Greenhouse Gas Analysis

DESCRIPTION:

Tech performed a greenhouse gas (GHG) analysis for the Highfield Village in Lunenburg, MA. The analysis was performed in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Policy and Protocol. This GHG policy requires carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to be quantified and measures to be identified that will help to avoid, minimize, or mitigate such emissions. To perform this analysis correctly, Tech used the appropriate energy design software. The model uses the U.S. Department of Energy's DOE energy use model and known CO2 emission rates. Based off of the modeling results, Tech was able to conclude that the mitigation alternatives will reduce the overall Project energy use by 7.8 percent and the total CO2 emissions by 10.1 percent.
