Sound Impacts of Bowers Mountain Wind Energy Project

DESCRIPTION:

As a peer review consultant to Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Tech performed an independent acoustic study of the proposed 48-MW Bowers Wind Project with regard to the Maine Site Location of Development Regulations. The project consists of 16 Siemens 3.0- MW turbines on a site in Carroll Plantation and on portions of Bill Hill in Kossuth Township in Washington County. Tech confirmed that acoustic modeling submitted with the application proves compliance with the Maine DEP noise regulations and expert testimony was given in public hearings.
