Indoor Air Quality Assessment

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental conducted a screening level indoor air quality (IAQ) investigation at The Westmoor Club in Nantucket, MA. The purpose of the investigation was to conduct a general assessment of the indoor air quality after the basement and first floor areas of the Club sustained water damage.  Remediation was conducted in the basement and first floor areas of The Westmoor Club after water damage occurred at the beginning of the month.  This remediation appeared to have been successful in the basement, but indirect evidence of mold growth was found on the first floor and additional cleanup and testing were recommended.

As part of this investigation, a site visit was conducted for a visual inspection and air sampling.  Tech took airborne mold spore samples and continous measurements of  ambient air, temperature and relative humidity.  The samples taken in the basement showed that the remediation appeared to be successful, with mold found at typical background levels. The sample taken on the first floor showed that further cleanup and retesting was necessary.  No visible mold growth was found in any of the investigated areas.
