DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental performed a noise analysis for a proposed transformer substation in Prattsburgh, New York. The objective of the study was to determine whether the proposed transformer equipment would likely comply with the noise criteria used in the NYS Article 7 process. The Project was also subject to the NYSDEC Program Policy DEP-00-1, "Assessing and Mitigating Noise Impacts".

Tech performed acoustic modeling of plant noise impacts for one equipment configuration. Tech calculated the maximum sound pressure level for all octave band center frequencies and the A-weighted broadband using a sophisticated 3-D model at each of the study area receptors. The results of the modeling analysis demonstrated compliance with the EPA and ANSI criteria.
