Sewer Odor Compliance Assessment

DESCRIPTION:

The Yarmouth location of the Christmas Tree Shops was experiencing odor events from grease trap wastes and septic emissions off-gassing in the parking lot during the peak summer season on Cape Cod.

Tech Environmental was asked to assess the odor potential from a septic system that had been upgraded to meet current regulations. After modifications and upgrades, a new private septic system was installed. Tech examined the manholes of concern to establish immediate odor potential, and determined that given the level of odor, redirecting the odor release point to a more remote location would solve the odor concern. Tech took volatile organic compound and hydrogen sulfide readings to assess and confirm the ultimate odor potential.

The odor concern was addressed to the satisfaction of the store manager and customers.
