Indoor Air Quality Testing for Primary School

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental completed an indoor air quality (IAQ) and airborne mold-testing program for the Hanscom Primary School at Hanscom Air Force Base in Lincoln, MA. Previous heavy rainfall events led to concerns about mold growth in one of the classrooms in the school. Tech conducted IAQ testing for airborne mold to verify that these classrooms were safe for occupancy. The samples were sent to a laboratory for microscopic spore quantification and identification.

The final analysis showed no significant elevation of mold spore counts inside the classrooms, no significant quantities of any unique types of mold, and no presence of the toxic mold of concern, demonstrating that children and teachers could then reoccupy the classrooms.
