MIT Lincoln Laboratory Generators

Generator Sound Level Compliance Testing

DESCRIPTION:

MIT's Lincoln Laboratory operates three emergency generators associated with Building F in Lexington, Massachusetts.  The facility was required to assess the sound emissions of these units and compare to those levels to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Noise Policy to satisfy the DEP's Environmental Results Program (ERP) Compliance Certification requirement.

Tech Environmental performed a sound level compliance testing program at the site to satisfy the requirement of the ERP Compliance Certification form.  The results of the study showed that all equipment was in compliance with the DEP Noise Policy, under all operating scenarios, at the nearest off-site property line.
