SERVICE:

Quarry Air Quality Impact Study

DESCRIPTION:

Rivers Development LLC, was proposing rock excavation operations at its property in Moretown, Vermont. The end product would be crushed stone, and the maximum production levels would be up to 1,300 tons per day, and 97,500 tons per year. The Vermont District Environmental Commission (Act 250) found that the applicant needed to study the air quality impacts on the closest residences during both the construction of an access road and the quarrying operation, in a manner similar to if the Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) required a permit application.

Tech Environmental conducted an air quality study for the project, providing an air emissions inventory for all criteria pollutants and air dispersion modeling for particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) and crystalline silica emissions.
