MWRA Jerome Meter Training

Operator Training for Jerome H2S Meter

DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental recently provided two training sessions over two days to the wastewater operators at the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority's (MWRA) Nut Island Headworks facility in Quincy, Massachusetts. The two training sessions consisted of detailed instruction on the capabilities, operation, and calibration of the Jerome hydrogen sulfide (H2S) analyzer, which has become the industry standard portable analyzer capable of analyzing concentrations of H2S in the parts per billion (PPB) range.

The facility operators were in need of the training in order to accurately analyze the inlet and outlet conditions of the air pollution control equipment on site. The training sessions provided detailed instructions on the proper use of the instrument, as well as recommendations for maintenance activities which would extend the life of the instrument and improve its performance. Training also included brief demonstrations of a long-term H2S analyzer and data logger.
