DESCRIPTION:

The Massachusetts Biologic Laboratories facility, on the former Boston State Hospital Campus in Mattapan, was expanding its laboratory and administrative space into an 80,000 square-foot building. Given the size of the proposed project, an air quality and noise analyses for an Expanded Project Notification Form (PNF), to satisfy the expected Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) requirements for the Project.

Tech Environmental performed air quality analyses for the project that consisted of a microscale carbon monoxide (CO) analysis for intersections in the Project area that met the typical BRA criteria and a description of the proper design for the laboratory ventilation exhaust stacks. Tech also performed a noise study to determine whether the operation of the Project would comply with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Noise Policy and the City of Boston Noise Regulations.
