DESCRIPTION:

Tech Environmental performed comprehensive studies and evaluations of occupational and environmental conditions that provided direction for program improvement. TE conducted studies on behalf of the Massachusetts Nurses Association that found significant ongoing problems with evaluation and control of hazardous drugs in healthcare systems. The study's results will be published in an upcoming edition of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health. Recommendations from the study included the need to monitor exposures more closely, improve controls, and provide training to workers. Other similar, ongoing studies include the evaluation of lower extremity risks to nurses and measurements of distances walked in the hospital setting.
