SERVICE:
Odor Potential Evaluation and Control for Amphidrome
DESCRIPTION:
A gated residential community utilized an Amphidrome septic wastewater system and was experiencing odors resulting from a lack of proper odor control. Although a small carbon filtration device was in use, it did not encourage sufficient airflow nor treat the airflow sufficiently. Tech Environmental was retained to study and remedy the concern.
Tech Environmental studied the site, the sewer system and the Amphidrome system, and compiled a report recommending solutions. The report detailed the neighborhood's tolerance for odor and characterized the odors that were present during odor events. By measuring odor using dilution-to-threshold techniques, Tech determined the extent of odor control necessary. Utilizing knowledge of engineering requirements and a wide range of odor control options, Tech recommended sustainable options to address the community's needs. These recommendations covered airflow, control and aesthetics, based on Tech's examination of the situation and experience in the field.
