DESCRIPTION:

A concrete batch plant in Massachusetts received a notice of non-compliance (NON) for sound emanating from its batch plant.

Tech performed baseline sound level monitoring and took sound power measurements of plant equipment. Acoustic modeling of the asphalt batch plant and cement plant was performed using a sophisticated 3-D noise model. Predictions were made at nearby sensitive receptor locations and a decibel contour map was produced to demonstrate compliance with local and state regulations. Noise mitigation measures were recommended, as necessary, to reduce noise.
