DESCRIPTION:

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company needed a sound analysis for a new supermarket to address concerns regarding noise in the residential area to the rear of the site where loading dock and trucking sound is generated.  This supermarket chain wanted an expert sound analysis to facilitate the local planning and zoning approval process.

Acoustic modeling was performed for the proposed Stop & Shop Supermarket and the three outparcel retail buildings. The future sound levels were compared to the CT DEP and City of West Hartford limits for residential areas.  Noise mitigation was recommended to ensure compliance.  This study was presented at a public neighborhood meeting in West Hartford.
