DESCRIPTION:

A Massachusetts varnish manufacturer operated an onsite wastewater pretreatment plant. There was a significant residual varnish odor emitted from the facility. During Tech's assessment of the facility for odor, it was determined that some required operating procedures had not been presented properly to the DEP.

Tech determined the pretreatment classification and developed a staff training program and an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manual for the facility. The O&M manual was developed in a cost-effective manner by referencing existing facility process procedures and safety manuals as often as possible.
