DESCRIPTION:

Constructed in 2000, Madison Wind Farm was the first commercial wind farm in New York. Madison Wind Farm consists of 7 Vestas V66 1.65 MW turbines and has an installed capacity of 12 MW.

Tech Environmental recieved a contract from Vestas American Wind Technology to perform noise testing on the Madison Wind Turbine Generating Station in Madison, NY.  As part of this effort, Tech prepared a testing protocol that included a field-monitoring program of up to five consecutive 8- to 12-hour days (starting on a Monday) for the purposes of establishing the sound power level of all seven wind turbines.
