Clean Water Act Implementation

DESCRIPTION:

Tech staff were hired to coordinate the Wisconsin DNR's early adoption and implementation of the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program. As Clean Water Act program, it required listing of water bodies (303(d) lists) that do not fully support beneficial uses such as aquatic life, fisheries, drinking water, recreation and industry. Tech staff organized a plan of corrective actions for impaired waters through watershed characterizations, pollution source assessments, load allocations, setting of targets and implementation plans.
